Collaborative innovation in digitization for the monitoring of environmental conditions of NMIs in the SIM region Academic Article uri icon

Abstracto

  • As techniques and technologies progress, so do our requirements for precise measurements. An emerging need lies in the digitization of monitoring and recording various environmental parameters such as temperature, relative humidity, and atmospheric pressure. This is particularly vital in calibration laboratories where accuracy and confidence in measurements are paramount, as in the National Metrology Institutes (NMIs) laboratories, which base their operations in compliance with the requirements if ISO 17025 standard.

The project introduced a collaborative development of a low-cost environmental condition measurement and recording device designed and built by NMIs of the Inter-American Metrology System (SIM), specifically for metrology laboratories.
