Abstract:
Projects for the detection, study, and analysis of meteors, as well as other objects, are very limited in Panama. That is why the following work aims to design and build a Yagi antenna at a characteristic frequency of 67 MHz (VHF Band - Channel 4), to detect meteors, using the frontal scattering technique. In the results it has been possible to obtain clear detections of meteoric events, which indicate the correct operation of the system. Through this project, the first step is taken to provide the material means and equipment necessary to carry out studies on meteors in Panama. This will develop the basis for a future national meteor monitoring system (SINAMOM).
