ABSTRACT:
The proper use of natural resources in agriculture represents one of the most important aspects that are directly related to food security worldwide. From this need arises the idea of using technological tools that allow the producer to use agricultural soils efficiently. This work proposes the development of a tool based on optimization to guarantee the adequate use of the soil, while maximizing profits from the food production system. Specifically, a linear programming optimization problem is considered, where variables such as investment cost or cost per hectare, initial investment capital, available planting area, planted area of each product, and net profit per hectare of each product. The results obtained show that the proposed tool achieves a higher profit margin as opposed to using the seed empirically, always using the production area efficiently.
