  • ABSTRACT:

Climate change is causing worldwide concern since it represents one of the main causes of the agro-climatic variations that affect the crops of many producers. These variations are expected to not only maintain but also continue to increase, which puts agricultural production and food security at risk. This article proposes a system for temperature and relative humidity monitoring in greenhouse structures, with the aim of providing a technological solution based on the Internet of Things (IoT) that helps the agricultural sector to avoid losses in crops due to climate change. The proposed system consists of measuring stations within the  structure of a greenhouse, with a specific number of temperature and relative humidity sensors. These stations later send (wirelessly) all the collected data to an online platform and in real-time, where it is all presented in graphic form. Users will have full access to the platform through any electronic device capable of connecting to the Internet. The results of this system show that it will contribute to providing the producer with an efficient and easy to use tool that monitors the agro-climatic variables inside and outside the greenhouse structures. This will help them to know the behavior in these structures to improve the production and the quality of their crops, as well as to prevent on time variations that do not go according to the conditions of the crops, thus avoiding losses in the production.
