    Abstract:
Glassfrogs, family Centrolenidae, are a monophyletic group of 156 nocturnal, epiphytic, and arboreal species specialized for life around riverine habitats (Guayasamín et al., 2009; Rivera and Folt, 2018; Frost, 2022). All species have a partially or completely transparent belly, and many deposit eggs in vegetation overhanging water or on rocks that protrude from the water (Ruiz-Carranza and Lynch, 1991). They are widely distributed throughout the Neotropics, from Mexico to Bolivia, with isolated groups in southeastern Brazil and northeastern Argentina (Guayasamín et al., 2009) and some species even on the Guyana Shield (Kok and Castroviejo-Fisher, 2008)
